I find that it is much easier to write a story when it is in a style I enjoy. A style that I very much enjoy is conversational writing. It reminds me of talking with my friends and I feel that the words flow onto the page much faster and with more ease. A writer who I take much inspiration from in this area is Jeff Kinney. Jeff Kinney is the writer of every Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. In these books Greg, the main character, is writing into his journal. Greg has lots of conversations with his friends and family but mostly, he has them with himself. Jeff Kinney portrays these conversations extremely well and has an ability to make me laugh out loud while reading. He also gets the feelings of his character ascross very well. It would be very hard to miss how his characters are feeling or what they are going to do next. Whenever I am writing in a anecdotal or conversational manner I like to refer back to Jeff Kinney's books and see if I can find inspiration.
